Building Peaceful Families, in partnership with the San Francisco 49ers and the Santa Clara County Office of Education's Foster Youth Services (FYS) program, invites kids (ages 5 through 17) to participate in our Top Dads Award Essay Contest. Children can nominate their father or father figure for this prestigious award by submitting an essay telling us why he should be considered a “Top Dad”.

The 50 fathers/father figures who are selected will receive their award at the 2012 Top Dads Award Luncheon & Wellness Fair on Friday, June 8th.

For submitting a winning essay, kids are invited to join their dad/father figure at the luncheon, where they will receive a Certificate of Excellence, along with some fantastic prizes, and a proclamation from the City of San Jose. Four first-place essay winners will receive two tickets to a San Francisco 49ers game* and a Target gift card!

In addition, ten men are selected by a BPF committee as one of the Top Ten Community Dads in Silicon Valley in recognition of their commitment to their families and the children and families of Silicon Valley.

This is a great opportunity for attendees to honor these special fathers and father figures. Please attend and invite your father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, godfather, friends, and staff and colleagues who are dads. This luncheon is a true celebration of fatherhood and an excellent way to say “thank you!”

* At the 49ers discretion, tickets may be converted to 2013 season if circumstances necessitate.
