In Santa Clara County, the vast majority of children in out-of-home placement are being raise by grandmothers. These unsung heroes play an important role not only in the lives of their grandchildren but also in our community. They provide a familial alternative to foster care, helping keep brothers and sisters together and families intact. Over the last five years, we have honored more than 500 grandmothers. This luncheon is held to thank and honor these community heroes.

This is a great opportunity for attendees to honor these special grandmothers and all mothers. Please attend and invite your mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, godmother, friends, and staff and colleagues who are mothers. This luncheon is a true celebration of motherhood and an excellent way to say “thank you!”
