The Top Dads Celebration LuncheonTop Dads Awards Luncheon, held bi-annually the week of Father's Day, honors 50 exceptional Bay Area fathers. Honorees are selected based on essays submitted by children that describe why their dad/father figure should be chosen for this special award. We also celebrate the Top Ten Community Dads in Silicon Valley in recognition of their commitment to children and families. Our 2010 event will be held on Friday, June 18th.

The 6th Annual High-Promise Dads Fatherhood Conference & Wellness Fair will be held on Saturday, August 14, 2010, at the San Jose State University Events Center. This conference is a pioneering Bay Area event that addresses the unique educational and health care needs of fathers in a family-friendly atmosphere. The San Jose State University Events Center will be filled with music, 16 workshops, and more than 40 booths offering the participants free health screening, information, resources, and referrals. A special outreach is made to fathers from diverse communities, immigrants, homeless, low income, and fathers on probation and parole. On this day-long event, we will educate, inspire, and emphasize to fathers that an involved, responsible, committed dad is worth his weight in gold.

The Because We Have Daughters Celebration will take place in October 2010 in conjunction with Domestic Violence Awareness Month. This event is a celebration where fathers and daughters come together and share fun and educational activities, play games, create art projects, perform skits, and other activities. As the primary male role model in a girl’s life, fathers influence their daughters in profound ways -- from how they see themselves to what they come to expect of men and the world at large. Activities at this event will help men look at life through their daughter’s eyes.  Fathers are inspired and encouraged to teach their daughters early, often, and by example that there is no place for violence in a relationship.
