Building Peaceful Families hosts several events each year recognizing outstanding parents, grandparents, and other family support systems.

The Top Dads Award Celebration Luncheon, held each year in June, honors 50 exceptional Bay Area fathers. Honorees are selected based on essays submitted by children (ages 5 through 17) that describe why their dad/father figure should be chosen for this special award. We also celebrate the Top Ten Community Dads in Silicon Valley in recognition of their commitment to children and families. The 2012 Top Dads Luncheon will take place on Friday, June 8th. The High-Promise Dads Fatherhood Conference, held each year in August, is a pioneering Bay Area event that addresses the unique educational and health care needs of fathers in a family-friendly atmosphere. The event offers workshops, free health screening, information, resources, referrals, and live entertainment. A special outreach is made to fathers from diverse communities, immigrants, homeless, low income, and fathers on probation and parole. On this day-long event, we will educate, inspire, and emphasize to fathers that an involved, responsible, committed dad is worth his weight in gold. Planning for the 2012 event is now underway.

The Golden Grandmothers Recognition Luncheon, held the week of Mothers Day, honors 50 grandmothers who have taken on the responsibility of being full-time parents for their own grandchildren. The 2012 celebration luncheon took place on Friday, May 11th. Planning for our 2013 event is now underway.
